#7414 Kuba Antique Caucasian Rug Runner 3’2″ x 13’2″ This is an interesting long rug. It has a latticework design containing innumerable different flower motifs worked in gold, pale blue, and red on a brown ground which is down indicative of its age. There is lots of asymmetry in design. The border motifs are very interesting. The interior minor border has meandering lazy hexagons filled with different motifs on an ivory ground. The major border is composed of a very well-drawn crab design on an ivory ground. There is a nice pink used in part of this crab border. This is further evidence of the trade between West China and the Caucasus. This crab border is flanked by alternating oblique striped borders. It is very beautifully drawn. The ends and sides are complete. The rug is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping including insurance of $100.00.
