Early east Anatolian Kurdish pile rug fragment. Splendid natural colors with saturation rarely found outside these beautiful weavings. Good fleecy pile with scattered wear, holes, tears and brown oxidation. Edges unraveling. Remnant kelim at top end. The complete lack of main border on one side raises the question of this being a divan fragment. Much as i look i can’t see any weft returns on that edge to assert this. Perhaps better light and a magnifying lens will help! Mid 19th c or earlier. 2’8” x 6’6”
