An unusual flat woven "chanteh" from western Afghanistan featuring an old, seldom seen pattern in the fiield.

The condition indicates it was well used at one point, and the colors, while typical of the region from which it comes, suggest it was a prestigious weaving, as an imported 'purple' dye is seen, not often encountered in flat woven articles. It is more often seen in plush pile weavings from the region.
