Merv Tekke turreted göl formal chuval. Intense red, Merv group Tekke. Very fine, like paper, with 6,000 knots per dm. This göl requires a massive 156 knots both across and high, so for a chuval to remain the right size we often see göl cropping by the borders which is conventionally thought to be a sign of good age, though after some thought on the subject i think this is just a way of keeping the chuval from becoming oversized. We find this design and pallet on 18th century ‘s’ group workshop pieces and suppose the Tekke versions to be derivative.
