Silk brocade fabric panel with metalic gold thread, of a type now called "bizarre", England or France, circa 1680-1720, 15 x 40 inches, intact selvedge on one long side.Condition very good with the exception of some loose gold threads. Bizarre silks are among the most visually striking and imaginative of all European textiles.
