Mid Century Dhurrie rug, 203cm x 104cm (80 inches x 41 inches) A cheerful and very charming rug from Rajasthan, circa 1950. The central field with rows of brightly woven birds drawn, in a distinctive stepped style, against a dark ground  and topped at both ends with fantastic pink tigers. The rug is overall in excellent condition, with only minor signs of age/wear. The ends and selvages are original and intact. There is some yellowing, possibly old staining, in places but these are small and not massively apparent. The textile is double sided, with no sun damage or fading to the colours of either side so can be displayed either way.
