Very early rare cane design Khamseh rug fragment with bird border from the first half of the 19 c. Cut across top border and reduced in length. Size is now 118 x 95 cm so presumably it was around 5 x3 feet + kelim ends so it is missing just over a foot. Very fine early tight weave just look at that back. Superb wool and saturated dyes as you would expect from a rug of this era. South persian tribal pieces pre 1880 are nearly impossible to find so this is a super rare collectible piece
