Antique Bergama rug, West Anatolia. 118 x 106 cm ( 3.9 ft x 3.5 ft) Second half of 19 th. century. The design with a white blossom at the centre. Along the central axis, there are two stylised cypress trees, flanked by two oil pitchers and four blue amulets . a white-ground inner border with blue and pistache green arrows, which also shapes a prayer arch at the top. The bold, black-ground main border with a geometric vine and stylized bunches of grapes. Condition: some central wear (untouched) and slightly reduced at both ends.
