An exceptional antique Uzbek Bukhara silk suzani fragment in a frame with glass dating to early 3rd quarter of the 19th century. The silk chain-stitched embroidery on a beige Karbos ground is exceptional executed . The colours are breathtaking with various shades of red, petrol, blue, apricot, beige and gold all derived from natural dyes. It is from a border section of magnificent nim suzani. The beautiful floral designs is really elegant. There is enough there for one to imagine the beauty of the larger piece it once belonged to. It would look beautiful in any home as a central Asian textile art. I’m good overall shape for a fragment and offered with a fair price. Size: of the frame 34cm x 29cm (13.5”x11.5”).
