An exceptional Antique early 19th century Uzbek Adras Ikat quilted hanging from Bokhara / Bukhara region. It is a shash rang / six colour Ikat which is of the high form of tie dye Ikat weaving because of the complex weaving skills needed to pull off so many colours in these textiles. The weave is silk warp / cotton weft adras as most very early such textiles were. The Design is phenomenal boasting large archaic shaman and floral motifs. The natural dyes colours are dazzling to say the least. The quilted floral printed cotton lining is antique and was probably reattached some point in it’s history . In a fair condition with some slight surface wear as expected of its age and seen on photos. It is a true textile art offered at a reasonable price. Very hard to find pieces of this calibre. a much larger piece than the photos suggest. See last image to begin a sense of scale. Size: 95cm (37”) x 70cm (27.5”).
