Hispano-moresque small bowl, Valencia, Spain, c. 1550-1650. Copper lustre ware with large animated bird and other markings in bold strokes, The oval shape on the interior likely is a stylized pomegranate. The two square boxlike symbols are stylized Kufesque calligraphy which signify the greeting "barakah." This motif is often seen on the borders and in the corner spandrels of carpets.
