Antique Eagle Kazak, ca. 1875 or earlier; 4’7” x 7’3” Nice early rendering of the “Eagle” motif with beautiful saturated natural colors. Many overt and implied animal heads/faces. Eight monocular creature- flowers in clear yellow stand out. Early style border blooms, and giant flower dragons at the corners of the eagle designs. Missing some of the red and white guard borders, partial selvedge, areas of wear some heavy. In addition some very minor retouching/ repiling. This a classic Kazak rug of unusally good age with some correctable flaws. Please examine photos carefully.
