Ladik, a wide blue design bar of nine box shapes enclosing large stars within octagonal surrounds lies on the vertical axis of the red field. The primary design is flanked on both sides by eight-pointed stars which alternate with octagons enclosing crosses. a fragmented example of this rare type was exhibited at the 2004 acor Conference held in Seattle (described as a Karapinar in the accompanying catalogue). Willborg labelled a piece published by him as a “Sizma (Ladik)”. Signs of age and wear, both ends and sides expertly restored, now in good condition.
