Size: 5ft 4in x 2ft 11in (163 x 89cm).
2nd half 19th century.
a good Saryk Turkmen chuval face with sixteen guls and nine complete minor guls, the top of the chuval and the lower elem panel are filled with traditional Saryk 'dancing ladies' design. The chuval has highlights in Cochineal and all the whites are in cotton.
The chuval face is in fair condition with even wear and medium pile, there are a few spots of heavier wear. There are slight losses in places to the sides and ends as can be seen in the images.
i have not washed the chuval face and the colour will improve with a gentle wash.
