Antique Luri Bagface, ca. 1875, 2’0” x 2’9” // 61 x 74 cm A central medallion, cloudband or snowflake shaped, in sky-blue and mint-green on a deep indigo ground. Medallion linked to a pair of dragons or griffins. Main border on ivory white ground with small octagons inhabited by quincunx- (5- dots) “stars”. Minor borders are trefoils in deep indigo, madder-red, and mint-green. All natural colors. Wool pile on cotton foundation. Frayed areas at the selvedges, missing/partial guard borders at the ends. a few tiny spots of moth-bite. Please see photos
