Hopi Ritual Dance Leggings. Beautifully soft, hand spun cotton leggings created for use in indigenous dance ceremonies. The native cotton fiber of these leggings has acquired an amazing patina and a soft lush quality to it that is truly captivating. The subtle Ivory coloration of the cotton bespeaks age. The spinning of the cotton yarns is truly beautiful. These leggings are both rare and elegant with an unusually idiosyncratic structure. These are subtle things. When seen in person this pair of leggings speaks to the devotion and love that was worked into them. These are lovely hand spun cotton ritual Hopi artifacts with an enduring simple beauty. Size: 29 x 9 inches. Hopi Mesas, Arizona. Timeless - but probably 19th/20th century. Very good condition.
