Complete, finely woven pre-Columbian bag with long warp fringes. North Coast of Chile or far South Coast of Peru. a.d. 900 - 1400. Totemic, stylized anthropomorphic or zoomorphic figures in three complimentary warp woven pattern bands alternating with warp faced plain weave bands. Warp and weft of finely spun, two ply alpaca fiber yarns. Very good condition, supple, recently cleaned. Size: bag is 11 x 13 inches. 11 x 24 inches including fringes.
