This circa 1850 Kuba #6449
measures 3’8” x 4’9”. It is a fantastic and essentially mint condition Kuba for its age. This beauty has 14 diagonal rows of a very abstract flower motif in ivory, light blue, peach, green, red and dark blue. Each design is just a little bit different, with no two alike. They are drawn in a diamond grid with a cube split four ways at each point, all on an ivory ground. All four borders are different diamonds and triangles with a cross hatched design on a rose ground. The outer border is very asymmetric also with flower motif in yellow, rose, blue and red on a sky blue ground. This is one of the most exciting Kubas i have ever seen. The asymmetric elements are really wonderful and the rug is essentially perfect. It does have some repairs to it. The buyer pays the shipping and insurance $75.
