This is an antique Khila rug woven in the Caucasus mountains during the end of the 19th century circa 1880 and measures 173x 123cm in size. the field is designed with three large-scale center medallions which are decorated with geometric floral motifs alongside double-headed animals. The two main borders are designed with polychrome-colored leaves that are interconnected with each other that create movement within the rug. This piece has been woven on an all-wool foundation that uses 100% natural vegetable dyes and is ready to be used and enjoyed or added to any tribal art collection.
