Beautiful, antique, tribal Kazak from Moghan area measuring 236x114cm with outstanding colours. On a blue ground there are two multi-hooked and multi colour medallions containing archetypic symbols of fertility and good luck. Many other symbols float in that blue like leaves in the water: ram’s horns, ogdoades, pinwheels, combs, quincunx…a sort of tribal “manifesto” encloses by a medachyl multicoloured border. Look at the main white ground border showing pinwheels and other figures in a triumph of saturated colours: brown, blue, red, green, yellow. Look at the knotting revealing its age: 1860-1870 at least. Good conditions with some repiling and one end professionally restored. An authentic, savage, tribal piece for the joy of many collectors.
