Beautiful, extremely soft, three paneled Tibetan masho – or above-saddle carpet - tightly woven using the tsuktruk method. It is constructed entirely of hand spun wool warp and weft, and has a soft ‘thickish’ pile which is a lustrous un-dyed and extremely fine mixture of very dark brown and black wool with a strikingly elaborate lighter brown medallion - that appears almost golden against the dark background - floating in the center panel. Made sometime circa the 1920's, the size is 89cm x 58cm (approximately 35in x 23in). a tastefully designed masho with a minimalist beauty all its own.
