Yemouth Bokhtsha Turkmen knotted circa in 1885 antique, collectors item. 72 x 71 cm carpet id: K-890
This Bokhtsha is a single example in the international market which serves to cover the Holy Quran.
The knots are hand spun lamb wool (silky wool), the crosses in front of the samovar are knotted with silk which is very rarely used in Turkmen carpets. High pile, the black and the brown colors are oxidized. The warp and the weft threads are mixed with wool and goat hair. The Islamic covered book is in its original shape, soft as an handkerchief and high standard quality.
