Antique Persian Bakhtiari Rug, ca. 1920,
192 × 142 cm (6' 3" × 4' 7"),
The deep indigo field with various angular floral motifs around four serrated and stepped, linked panels containing stylised trees. In and ivory border of polychrome floral sprays and Hooke triangle motifs between brick-red flowering vine, zig-zag and barber-pole stripes.
Very nicely drawn design seldom found in rig size. Bold appearance. This piece has slight wear to the top pile otherwise good pile. Ends with short fringes secured. Selvages rebound. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Very attractive piece.
