Ceremonial Ladies Figures Fragment of Hariyali Teej pooja. From Rajasthan India. Hand Painted with mica and Natural Colours with Silver and Gold Zari Embroidery on cloth but later they added on the paper. The colour ful celebration of Hariyali Teej falls in the month of Sawan. The festival of Hariyali Teej is celebrated by women across north Indian states including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. On this day, women fast for 24 hours, offer prayers and seek blessings from Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for a happy and long marriage. As per Indian mythology, Hariyali Teej celebrates the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is also called Teej Mata on this day. On this auspicious day, women pray for a blissful marriage and for the well-being of their families. Its size is 31cmX37cm.C.1900-1925 (20221124_141023).
