Antique Turkish Ottoman prayer rug of classic six column design inscribed with two panels of Ottoman script. www.knightsantiques.co.uk
Size: 6ft 3in x 4ft 2in (190 x 126cm).
Circa 1800.
The rug is beautifully drawn with a green ground with two dark green panels containing Ottoman script in ivory outlined in red. The drawing in the panel above the three arches is very detailed. The wide main border is filled with a leaf design.
The rug is in average condition with wear, heavy in places. The pile is generally low with a few areas of foundation showing. The ends and sides are both complete and original, both ends retain some of the original kilim.
