Beautiful richly coloured naturally dyed Tibetan seating carpet. The three dimensional 'Greek t' main border encloses an inner secondary border with crosses that mimic the tie-dyed tigma pattern much beloved by Tibetans, while in the center field clouds encase a stylised double dorje. The center-field itself is a mix of deep rich green dyed wool mixed with a natural brown wool that is then marled together to make the exquisite abrashed pile. All richly saturated natural dyes, wool warp and weft, size 55cm x 52cm (21.75”in x 20.5in) not including warp ‘fringed’ ends, and made in the early 19th century (i.e. circa 1920 or before). a very attractive and well constructed piece.
