An excellent antique Uzbek Shahrisabz silk embroidered dress collar decoration dating to the 19th century. Shahrisabz region produced some of the most beautiful of all Central Asian embroideries. Often these iroqi stitched pieces belonged to garments or decorations of wealthy noble families. The red two-snake woven around each other motif set in elongated hexagons in blue and white against a rich purple ground, is visually dazzling. The work is extremely fine. In mint condition and worthy of any good collection. a beautiful work of textile art offered at a reasonable price. size: 86cm x 9cm.
