Two-toned naturally dyed Tibetan seating carpet – or shugden - with light blue coloured motifs of various sorts over a darker blue background. The outer border consist of assorted esoteric symbols while the center field has what appears to be a crane with open wings (or a phoenix?) in the central roundel and luck bestowing bats in the four corners. It has good pile with subtle abrash throughout, a cotton warp and wool weft and was made circa 1920. The size is 84cm x 60cm (33in x 23.5) and is backed by a blue cotton cloth. It is in very good condition.
