antique turkoman yamout bag face dating from the second half of the 19th century and woven by the Yamout in what is now Turkmenistan. The juval face has been very gently washed which has revealed small areas of turquoice and a deep kingfisher blue hidden in the madder background. The pile is low but the original wool still sparkles. Although sections of each side are damaged the whole widths of the top and bottom still have several rows of the original kilim ends.
