Karachopf Kazak, late 19th century. 74" x 51". a cheerful Kazak featuring a well-drawn ram's horn ivory border framing a red ground with an ivory outlined triple medallion. The ram's horn motif is repeated as ground ornament as well as in the center of each hooked medallion. a completely balanced composition with a great use of color to complement the design. Nice wool, saturated dyes. Very good condition: clean, even wear, original ends and sides, minor repiling; at a size that's suitable for hanging on a wall.
