Antique Persian Bijar (Bidjar) Runner Rug, 19th Century,
260 × 120 cm (8' 6" × 3' 11"),
The soft rust-red plain field with single Blue and deep indigo large and hooked medallion at each end flanking central stepped large floral panel. Deep Indigo floral wide spandrels. In rust border of polychrome hooked palmettes And hooked vine between ivory hooked boteh, barber-pole and plain stripes. This rug has slight wear to the top pile. Very good colours and very nicely drawn design. Bold appearance. Selvages rebound, well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Elegant and very good furnishing piece.
