Rafia fiber man's or woman's ceremonial dance skirt from the Kuba kingdom d.r.c., patterned by applique patches around the border and embroidery on the field, 29 x 105 inches, circa 1925-1950. Very good condition overall. Published on p. 135 in Kuba Textiles, the catalogue of an exhibition at the Neuberger Museum of Art, 2015. An unusual and very striking example of Kuba textile art.
