Antique piled mafrash panel from the Varamin region of central Persia, south of Tehran. www.knightsantiques.co.uk Circa 1900. Size: 3ft 7in x 1ft 5in (110 x 43cm). This panel is probably the side panel from a bedding or storage bag used by the nomads, the design is typical for the region with a single large medallion on a dark indigo blue field. The panel is in good condition with slight even wear and good pile, the panel retains a short kilim strip at the upper and lower end. There are a few very small spot of historic wear from use. The panel has been hand washed and is ready for display. Stock Number: h-272.
