Karabag Caucasian knotted circa 1885 antique, collectors item, 290 x 107 cm, id: K-4678
The black oxidized places are slightly shorter than the rest, the background color is cochineal red, the surrounded large border is ivory, allover crab design, the warp and the weft threads are mixed with wool and goat hair, the knots are hand spun wool, very finely knotted, soft as an handkerchief, the selvages are woven on two lines, rare example, in its original shape.
