Baby carrier cover cod. 0097.Silk embroidery on cotton. Miao people. Southwestern China. First half 20th. century. Very good condition. Cm. 55 x 52 (1'10" x 1'8").
This piece is very special,its handwork is very nice.First they drew the designs of birds and flowers,and then they use silk to cut out the flower and birds designs,and stitch them on the baby-carrier,then they will embroider the borders of the designs The whole designs are surrounded by splitting floss embroidery,there is a big silk thread wrapped by the splitting floss.
