Antique Caucasian Karabagh region runner with all over diagonal boteh design.
www.knightsantiques.co.uk
Circa 1880.
Size: 14ft 1in x 3ft 5in (430 x 104cm).
A very good runner with diagonal rows of flowering boteh on a charcoal coloured ground. The rows of boteh are in different soft pastel colours, there are also filler elements of small birds and animals, the soft yellow border frames the runner well and gives it a very light and warm feel. There is a possibility that the runner is from the region around Gendje.
The runner is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile, there is some corrosion to the charcoal field.
The runner is suitable for normal domestic use.
The runner has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
