Abochhini Wedding Shawl (Women) from Sindh Region of Undivided India. India, From the Lohana group

The ceremonial head shawl has been tie-dyed prior to being embroidered.
This pattern has a small diamond at the centre enclosed within a larger square and curvilinear bands (val) on either side. The squares could represent the cosmos. The bands have embroidered symbols in the shape of swastikas at both ends. The swastika, in Hindu doctrine, is referred to as the sakhiyo. It is a symbol of the god Ganesh and is found on all wedding garments.
