a rare antique silver with gold appliqué talismanic crown for boy’s hat made by the Yomud / Yomut tribe Turkoman / Turkmen, dating to the 19th century.. These were made by Persian Turkmen people. Often hats made for young boys and young girls would have ornamental jewellery as such attached on top. The examples for girls would have a dome shape while those for boys would be flat shaped with a central part containing sacred protective texts from which elaborate jewelled tassels would stem out. This is an exceptional example of boys hat crown. The fine silver on which gold appliqué is set with elegant rams horn and floral motifs. It is finished with red, green and blue glass and turquoise insets. The quality of the work is fantastic with gorgeous patina. a real museum grade collective piece of ethnographic jewellery of Central Asia. offered at a reasonable price.
