This is a ritual fabric from Lampung in the south of the island. The depiction is of abstractly designed ships (silk on cotton), so-called soul boats. The transition of dead souls to a land of the ancestors. These cloths are traditional and have always been owned by families for generations. The condition is very good, with age-related signs of wear that have been neatly sewn.
