This early 18th century possibly mid-17th century Konya antique rug #7806is incredibly beautiful and certainly belongs in any museum. It measures 4’5” x 6’8” (137 x 207 cm). It has a beautiful yellow field which is topped off by an apricot colored abrash with four cones on the top of it. The dyes are actually made from apricots sometimes adding a bit of sulfur for a deeper apricot color. There are eight Memling guls in various colors such as blues, rusty roses and tons of aubergine. The major border covers three sides of the rug. The bottom half is in ivory and the top half in the same dark apricot. This rug has no symmetry. Anything on the right side of the rug is not on the left side of the rug. Anything on the top of the rug is not on the bottom of the rug. And the center of the rug has no brothers either. The outer border is four different design motifs in yellow, ivory, black and brown. Incredible lappets are at either end. The rug has great pile and is in essentially perfect condition for its age. The ends and sides are complete. The rug is clean and ready to go. This rug in my opinion is at least 300 years old. https://antiqueorientalrugs.com/product/very-antique-konya-oriental-rug-...
