This 18th century Kula #7944 measures 3’11” x 6’1”. It has a prayer field in a beautiful red with four coffee pots and some very interesting foliage. There are four buildings that look like tombs. It is very similar to a Grave Kula. The columns going up the side remind one of a Baroque Melez but it’s much too old for that. The rug is actually a Madjidieh a type of Kula 1st 1/4 19th century . Is pictured in Dr. Mohamaid Malafa’s book printed in Cairo 1953. The construction of Ghordez and Kula are entirely different although some motifs are shared. The border is outrageous. The rug is in good condition. It is clean and ready to go. https://antiqueorientalrugs.com/product-category/turkish-rugs/
