Pre-Columbian tie dye panel, Wari Culture, a.d. 600 - 900. Size: 25 x 33 inches. This textile has a colorful and interesting combination of tie dye patterns woven in discontinuous warp and weft plain weave sections - a weaving technique unique to the Andean region. The range of color is good and the large x shaped figures are unusual. The piece was cleaned, but has yet to be conserved. The main image gives some idea of how it could look after conservation. Available as is.
