Antique Afghan Adraskhan Baluch rug of traditional ‘Mushwani’ design, the rug is of a warm colour with indigo blue.
Circa 1900/20.
This group of rugs made in Western Afghanistan, south of Herat; by the Baluch nomads. The rug has the traditional Mushwani design in indigo blue, the design is a series of multiple latch hooks or bird heads. The border is a rosette design, note the use of ivory for the corner rosettes, which is a feature of these rugs.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile. The wool is very soft and glossy.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
