Silk gloves, Qara Khitay / Western Liao, Central Asia, Semirechye, late 12th century. Silk gauze. l. 23.5 cm; w. 13.5 cm. The gloves are cut to fit individual fingers. Four fingers are standing on top of the palm, and the thumb stands out from the side, a little lower than the bottom of the other fingers. Published: Arts from the Land of Timur.
