This is a scarce example of a blue ground Timuri rug from Western Afghanistan, with an all over lotus leaf design; the hand placements also contain the leaf design. The squarer shape is an indicator of an early date. The rug is in fair condition with some wear and corrosion. There are losses to the kilim ends and side bindings.
