Antique Baluch rug from Khorasan province of Eastern Persia, with all over 'boxed gul. design.
Circa 1900.
The rug is from the Khorasan region and could be attributed to the Yaqub Khani or the Mahdad Khani tribe, the repeat design is Turkmen inspired with small repeat boxes containing a Turkmen style gul as found on fine Tekke chuval. The main border also contains a Turkmen design. The rug as superb soft colours and excellent wool.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile,.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
