Impressive tiger carpet from the Inner Mongolian region of China. The tiger is very well rendered against a red background and is shown in the classic ‘paw on paw’ stance and a benign friendly face. Made circa 1900 it has cotton warp and weft, size 186cm x 93cm (approximately 73in x 37in). In excellent condition with very delicate colour graduation (not colour-run) throughout the tiger.
