a rare central ansian silk textile. This antiqueUzbek Adras Ikat pillow case from Bokhara / Bukhara region is an original piece from 19th century. We often see ikats fabrics used to make garments or hangings, but they were also applied in functional textiles such a pillow case for the homes of the wealthy people of Uzbek and Tajik groups. This pillow case is round and long shaped and tailored from a gorgeous two tone silk warp / cotton weft Ikat fabric. The motifs are in red with and dash motifs contrasting against white. It is in a very good shape and intact. (note: For the purpose of photography i have packed / stuffed it to show its shape. But I’ll be sending it without stuffing and a pillow can easily be inserted from the side opening which can open via a string).
