Size: 4ft 0in x 2ft 5in (123 x 74cm).
Antique Baluch rug, with traditional design often found in both Timuri and Yaqub Khani weavings.
Circa 1880.
a very pleasing Baluch rug, with a very detailed compartment design with willow leaf and Turkmen inspired design elements. This design is usually found on main carpets and there is a good probability that this rug is a fragment of a larger carpet now made in to a sweet little rug.
Superb wool quality, excellent soft madder red colour, with good blues and ivory highlights.
The rug is in good condition with even wear and good pile. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
