Back
This magnificent antique Bakhtiari Persian rug from the 1920s measures 215x150cm and impresses with its beautiful tree pattern on a midnight blue background. The design includes cypress, weeping willow, poplar and flowering trees. The pattern goes back to early rugs from Nordwest Persia. In Persia, this pattern is affectionately known as “Bid Majnun” (Weeping Willow).
The red main border, richly decorated with delicate floral patterns, perfectly frames the impressive inner field and gives the rug a harmonious balance. The artistic craftsmanship and use of high-quality wool and shiny natural dyes make this rug an outstanding example of rural Persian rug art and a valuable collector's item.
Size: circa 215x150cm / 7ft by 5ft
